10 June - back in the countryside

We left the coast for a couple of days - mainly because the two sites we chose on the coast near La Rochelle were closed due to storm damage courtesy of Hurricane Theresa. Not that we minded as we found a wonderful municipal site inland.



Jane recreates her 1987 Tour de France victory - although her bike in 2010 is, obviously, far more 'state of the art' and sophisticated.

Two gorgeous Pitou donkeys on the Ile de Re island near La Rochelle (which film buffs will remember as where Das Boot came to grief). Bigger than the usual kind (the donkeys not the island). Or maybe just one donkey with a second pair of ears attached to its bottom.
