12 May - Vilanova Park

We are on a huge campsite near Sitges about 30km south of Barcelona. One of the benefits of huge sites is the amount and standard of their facilities [3 swimming pools, tennis, gym etc etc]. The other benefit is when you come out of season, they are relatively quiet - hence jane having the pool to herself.
Also, for the first time we have joined a "rally" so have the company of other Brits. It is a really useful way of getting local info quickly plus there are events to join in if you want. So it's Boules at 2.00 and Whist at 8.00 and wife-swapping at midnight! We will post photos later - if decent and legal.

9 May - the amazing ancient Greek and Roman town of Empuries

We cycled about 8km to visit this. This is an aerial view of the site photographed from an information board. It only shows the ancient Greek part. The Roman site is behind this and on a much bigger scale.
Greek water filters.
A Greek statue.

Another Greek God!!

Roman mosaic floors

The main entrance through the Roman walls - see the ruts of the chariot wheels on the floor and a phallic symbol on one of the blocks to the right of the entrance symbolising strength and prosperity.

Another near empty campsite. We made a dramatic arrival in a cloud of steam, followed by the contents of the radiator being deposited on the tarmac outside Reception - anti-freeze is such a lovely blue colour.......What a pity Allan forgot to tighten the radiator cap after he topped it up yesterday.

What a pair of lovely containers - and look, there's two huge jars of Nutella too!!!
